What is the remainder when is divided by 800 ?

Solution:

We observe that the base 7 is smaller than the divisor 800.

So, we need to make the base bigger than 800 first.

 

= × =  × 343

2401 = 2400 + 1, where 2400 is divisible by 800

    2401 divided by 800 gives 1 as remainder,

⇒ divided by 800 will give =1 as remainder,

⇒  × 343 divided by 800 will give 1 × 343 as remainder,

    Hence, the remainder will be 343.
